Clue

For the third time, I welcome all friends of videogaming and other forms of electronic entertainment. Project White Belt is off to a great start. We have been contacted by many hundreds of gamers from various countries already. And we will soon begin pre-selecting punters, who will receive our test devices.

Presenting no obvious way of contacting us through this teaser site was a deliberate choice. We did want to present you with a challenge. But the overwhelming response shows that the challenge was not too hard to master. For all those who are nevertheless struggling with our little poser, I suggest you research the history of the codename Project White Belt. You should come across a clue that will point you in the right direction. But feel free to ask questions or share the clues you found via the comments section.

Become a punter

Welcome once again, friends of videogaming and other forms of electronic entertainment. Today, I will go into some more detail about how you may become part of the project that will surpass everything you hold dear in the world of videogaming.

Much has been speculated about when three-dimensional visualization will take hold in mainstream gaming. With the advent of Project White Belt, the wait is over. Our technology partners have already built a first batch of early prototypes, later iterations of which will be ready for test deployment in all three major territories within one year. Specifically, we are looking for punters, as we call them, in Japan and Korea, Canada and the United States as well as the United Kingdom, France and Germany. This test is scheduled to take place in early 2009. Other regions may join at a later date.

If you live in those countries and are interested in becoming a punter, you need to be at least eighteen years of age, prepared to sign a non-disclosure agreement, as well as a lease contract and legal release. Further restrictions may apply in individual countries. Test devices are fully insured and detailed instructions, as well as health and safety documents, are included.

Punters must not suffer or have suffered from epilepsy or other seizures, chronic migraine, traumata, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome or vision disorders and must not have any record of those medical conditions in the family. In case of pregnancy, heart or respiratory conditions, back, joint or orthopaedic problems, high blood pressure or if you have been instructed by your physician to restrict your physical activity, you may not be eligible to join. Please also note that these restrictions are solely dictated by the technologies implemented and no applicant shall be entitled to compensation on the grounds of non-eligibility.

Applicants will also be required to submit extensive personal details, both before and during the test period. You may also have to undergo regular medical examinations in your area. Solid gaming experience is necessary and proficiency in operating a videocamera is a bonus. All equipment necessary for the test will be supplied and all expenses incurred will be paid for.

With those contingencies out of the way, I am sure that many of you would like to ask some questions. Again, I ask for your understanding if I cannot answer all of them.

About Project White Belt

Hello and welcome, friends of videogaming and other forms of electronic entertainment. I am here to tell you a little about a groundbreaking project I am involved with. When this project will be revealed - most likely in October next year - it will send shockwaves through the videogame industry. What I am going to call Project White Belt here will be the end of traditional gaming and you will want to be a part of it, believe me.

Behind the project are a number of key technology partners you, as gamers, may not know. It is spearheaded, however, by a company you are all very familiar with. Of course, the project is not codenamed Project White Belt internally. But the name chosen for this public outing reflects the project, as you will see.

Now, cynics may suspect that I am a fraud, since such disclosure, such indiscretion would be tantamount to a breach of confidentiality and come with severe penalties attached. But the opposite is the case here. All I can say here is that Project White Belt and the company behind it are actively seeking publicity, albeit - at this stage - exclusively through low-key channels such as this medium. You may soon come across similar channels that bear the same reference.

Why a public outing? Suffice it to say that the project in its current stage involves recruiting a first circle of what we call pundits, who will receive exclusive privileges once the project and its subsequent service move into their next phase. I know this is all very cryptic, but soon you will be extremely happy for having become a pundit. If you understood Project White Belt, you would understand. And soon you will. I invite you to ask questions, but also ask your understanding when I am unable to answer.
